Dover Congregational United Church of Christ makes mission its fundamental purpose in serving our neighbors and those in need.  Among the organizations we support are:

Providence House - an advocate for at-risk children and families who are in crisis and have histories of homelessness or justice-involvement, and provides a safe community where their dignity is recognized, strengths are enhanced and a transition to stability is achieved.

Community of Hope - helps to "build a bridge between the foster system and a thriving adulthood by build lasting relationships, nurture hope, and restore dignity by creating family-like relationships for Ohio's youth."

Denison Avenue UCC Food Pantry - in connection with Denison Avenue United Church of Christ, Dover helps stock a food pantry that provides 100 families each month with 6,000 pounds of meat, produce, canned goods and other groceries.

Street Ministry - on the 3rd Sunday of every other month, Dover members distribute food and clothing directly to homeless people living on the streets of Cleveland.  Our "Blessing Bags" of personal items including soap, toothpaste, underwear, socks, shampoo, etc. are distributed by members on an on-going basis.  Bags are available to be picked up at Dover for distribution.

Greater Cleveland Congregations - "a non-partisan organization of faith communities and partner organizations in Cuyahoga County working together to build power for social justice."

I AM - Inclusion Affirmation Ministry is a confidential support group for the LGBTQIA community, their parents, families and friends.  This ministry focuses on loving and lifting up people hurt by exclusion and exile from society.  During COVID, this group has put meetings "on hold" but Dover is always an open, welcome and affirming place for members of this community and their families.

Sound the Call - Encourages individual members to being a new ministry or mission to the church when they feel spiritually moved to do so.  If you have a passion for mission, or a passion for a mission project, pick up a Sound the Call form in the church office.
